Job Description

Position Purpose:

Overall suspension system design support. Responsible for developing suspension component, creating and revising CAD drawings, generating suspension, and producing tolerance studies.

Essential Functions:

•Assist engineers in product design, development, and production release activities.

•Utilize Computer Aided Design and 3D modeling skills to design and detail suspension system components and systems that satisfy customer requirements and meet Hendrickson Auxiliary Axle Systems cost, quality, and manufacturing requirements.

•Utilize knowledge of manufacturing processes and GD&T to create drawings that accurately define parts and reflect design intent.

•Utilize knowledge of Hendrickson Auxiliary Axle Systems product offerings to assist the customer service department in the proper application of HAUX products.

•Assist the customer service department in providing product technical support. Record information pertinent to the call for future reference by the engineering department.

•Other duties as assigned.

•Maintain regular attendance.

Education and Training

•High School Diploma or GED with two years relevant work experience.

•Associate degree preferred.

Minimum Qualifications

•3D modeling/CAD experience required; NX software experience a plus.

•Geometric dimensioning and tolerancing experience desirable.

•Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office and other PC programs.

•Detail oriented with mechanical design aptitude.

•Knowledge of manufacturing processes.

•Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.

•Ability to work overtime as needed.

Physical Demands

•Must be able to remain in a stationary position constantly.

•Minimal need to move about inside office and plant designated area.

•Frequent movement of hands, wrists, and fingers such as typing, filing, and writing.
