Job Description

Provides daily supportive and functional care to residents in a compassionate environment according to established community care procedures as directed by nursing leadership. Works as a collaborative member of an interdisciplinary team that focuses on the resident as the director of their own care. Responsibilities include maintaining residents’ comfort, providing physical care with activities of daily living, answering resident’s call lights and requests, reporting observations to the nurse, handling personal care needs, observing residents for changing needs, participating in care/service plans, assisting during mealtimes, creating meaningful relationships with residents and families, supporting resident decision making, assisting with therapies and treatments, documenting care, and maintaining a clean and safe environment. Qualifications include current CNA certification for Missouri, Illinois, or Pennsylvania (with specific enrollment requirements for PA), good communication skills, and preferably prior direct patient care experience. Physical requirements include standing, walking, handling objects, talking, sitting, reaching, stooping, kneeling, climbing occasionally, lifting up to 50 lbs, and exposure to various working conditions including infectious materials. The job requires willingness to work beyond normal hours including weekends and holidays. The description notes that other duties may be assigned as needed.
