About the Role

The Company is seeking a Chief Diversity Officer (CDO) to lead and manage diversity and compliance staff, and campus initiatives, and ensure adherence to federal, state, and university policies and regulations related to diversity, equal opportunity, and affirmative action. The CDO will be responsible for creating and overseeing programs that foster a climate of respect for diversity among faculty, staff, and student groups. This includes investigating and managing complaints of discrimination, preparing reports on equal employment opportunity and affirmative action efforts, and collaborating with various offices to ensure compliance with EEO/OFCCP, Title IX, and other related matters. The role also involves monitoring the recruitment and retention processes to promote diversity and inclusion and serving as a liaison to the university's Chief Diversity Officer Council. Candidates for the CDO position should have a Bachelor's degree and at least eight years of relevant experience, with a Juris Doctorate and experience in higher education or employment law preferred. The ideal candidate will have a record of success in EEO/AA and DEI, familiarity with regulatory requirements, and excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is essential, and experience with investigative software and being bilingual in Spanish, French, Mandarin, or Arabic is a plus. The CDO will be expected to develop strategies for diversity in hiring, participate in recruitment, and coordinate training programs on diversity, EEO, and compliance. The role requires a candidate who can work effectively as part of a high-level administrative team and is committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive campus environment.
