Interamerican Bank is actively seeking an experienced Commercial Loan Officer to join our team and help drive the growth of our South Florida market. In this key role, you will be responsible for cultivating new business relationships, structuring and closing commercial loans, and managing a dynamic portfolio. As a Commercial Loan Officer, you will be instrumental in expanding our commercial loan portfolio. This involves developing new contacts, leveraging industry referrals, and continuing to provide exceptional service to both new and existing clients. You'll play a critical role as the primary liaison between the Bank and our clients, ensuring top-notch service throughout the loan process.

Key Responsibilities:

• Business Development: Actively generate new commercial loan opportunities to meet annual growth targets.
• Loan Structuring & Closing: Manage all aspects of loan structuring, from origination through closing, for a variety of commercial loans, including income-producing properties, owner-occupied properties, small business loans, and construction loans.
• Portfolio Management: Oversee a diverse portfolio, ensuring high-quality loan performance and effective management of maturing and past-due loans.
• Client Relationship Building: Cultivate strong relationships with clients and industry referral partners to expand business opportunities.
• Credit & Risk Analysis: Review loan applications, credit histories, financial statements, and debt service compliance to assess risk and ensure sound loan decisions.
• Cross-Selling: Promote a wide range of bank products and services to meet client needs and drive growth.
• Customer Service: Provide ongoing support and serve as the primary contact for clients, ensuring exceptional service throughout the loan lifecycle.

What We’re Looking For:

• Experience: Proven track record of success in the lending industry, with strong business development and relationship management skills.
• Production Goals: Must have a personal production goal for monthly loan closings and demonstrate the ability to consistently meet these goals.
• Skills: Strong business development, communication, and relationship management skills.
• Ethics & Motivation: Self-motivated, ethical, and results-driven with the ability to meet and exceed targets.
• Portfolio: An existing portfolio of commercial loans is essential.

Education & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, or a related field (preferred), or 10+ years of relevant work experience in lending.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.).
• Previous experience in credit analysis and underwriting preferred.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
