Detail Painter - Central Campus

Essential Job Functions:

• Brush, spray, or hand rub finishing ingredients, such as paint, oil, stain or wax onto and into wood grain, then apply lacquer or other sealers.
• Mix finishes ingredients to obtain desired colors or shades.
• Operates and maintains filter and related system in spray booth.
• Ensures compliance with local, state and federal regulations, (e.g. Texas Commission of Quality).
• Removes layers of sub coatings, prepares surfaces for painting by spot filling, sanding, masking, and applying primers, enamels, clear coats and urethanes.
• Recommends proper equipment and supplies to use in the course of applying coatings.
• Painting of offices, classrooms and hallways.
• Stripe parking lots, paint curbs and car stops.
• Paints and constructs signs and other way finding devices.

Additional Job Functions:

• Other duties as assigned by supervisor

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• 7 years of experience in the field of construction, painting and finishing.

Required Education:

• GED or High School Diploma

Required Experience:

• 7 years documented experience and background in commercial construction.

Work Environment:

• Exposure to potential fumes from projects in department
• Physical Plant Environment

Physical Activity :

• Lifting up to 50 pounds of force

Note: The duties of this position require a physical presence at the assigned on-site work location during unrestricted operations with very limited or no opportunity for remote work arrangements.
