Introduction

About the Position:
Provides a variety of complex administrative duties related to include monitoring budgets, creating various reports and documents, and overseeing projects of moderate complexity. Has the ability to interact with a broad spectrum of people, including the public, elected officials, and other internal and external stakeholders. Willing to learn new systems and software. Attention to detail required.

Minimum Qualifications


Education and Experience
  • A high school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) equivalent.
  • Four years of experience in administrative support to include project/program management or coordination.
  • Any equivalent combination of education and/or job-related experience that meets the minimum qualifications may be substituted.
  • Preferred: Associate's Degree.
Licensing, Certifications and Other Requirements
  • Every person employed by the City of Scottsdale shall reside in the State of Arizona during his or her active employment by the City, regardless of whether the employee is approved to remote work.
Other pertinent licenses and/or certifications may be required of some positions depending on department/section assignment.

Essential Functions


  • Supports Department Director by monitoring and researching legislation, public policy, ordinances and statutes.
  • Administers, justifies, and monitors budgets, makes purchases and manages expenses.
  • Administers and monitors contracts for professional services and other Government Relations initiatives.
  • Develops, maintains and implements tracking systems, procedures, guidelines and informational documents for the Department to improve services, programs, and processes.
  • Composes and executes council action reports and resolutions.
  • Manages Tribal Gaming Grant Program.
  • Manages travel preparations and reporting.
