Job Title: Business Transient Sales Manager

Location: DoubleTree by Hilton Harrisonburg

Reports To: General Manager or Director of Sales

Shift: Variable Shifts, Including Weekends and Holidays

Job Overview:

The Business Transient Sales Manager is a key player in driving corporate transient room revenue at Encore Hospitality. This role focuses on acquiring and nurturing relationships with local and national businesses, identifying new opportunities, and negotiating competitive corporate rate agreements. The Business Transient Sales Manager ensures business travelers receive exceptional service, while strategically working to maximize revenue and occupancy for the hotel.

Work Environment:

  • Primarily office-based with regular client meetings, site visits, and event attendance.
  • Flexibility in hours is required; occasional evenings and weekends may be necessary to meet business needs.

$55,000 - $65,000 annual

Sales and Revenue Generation:

  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans aimed at generating business transient revenue through new and existing corporate accounts.
  • Identify, solicit, and secure new business transient accounts, cultivating strong relationships to ensure long-term partnerships.
  • Negotiate and manage corporate rate agreements, ensuring both profitability and competitiveness in the market.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor performance, and transient business patterns, adjusting strategies to maintain a competitive edge.
  • Achieve or exceed monthly and annual sales targets through a combination of proactive outreach and strategic client management.

Account Management:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for business transient accounts, ensuring high-level service delivery and fostering long-term loyalty.
  • Conduct regular site visits, presentations, and quarterly business reviews with key clients to strengthen relationships and maximize opportunities.
  • Maintain up-to-date records of all client interactions, account details, and contract agreements within CRM systems.
  • Address client needs promptly and effectively, providing solutions that enhance satisfaction and repeat business.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Collaborate closely with the revenue management team to optimize pricing, availability, and inventory for transient business.
  • Work with the marketing team to develop tailored promotional materials, campaigns, and offerings that appeal to corporate travelers.
  • Provide ongoing market intelligence and feedback to the leadership team, helping refine strategies and improve guest experiences for business travelers.
  • Participate in cross-functional team meetings, contributing valuable insights to improve operational efficiency and guest satisfaction.

Reporting and Administration:

  • Prepare and present regular sales performance reports, including updates on business transient accounts, market trends, and competitive analysis.
  • Track and analyze transient business revenue, using data to adjust sales tactics and ensure alignment with revenue goals.
  • Participate in weekly sales and revenue meetings, providing updates on progress and collaborating on strategies to meet targets.
  • Ensure full compliance with hotel policies and procedures in all sales operations, including rate negotiations and contract management.
Qualifications:

Job Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field (preferred).
  • Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years in hotel sales, with a focus on business transient sales. Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Skills:
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Excellent relationship-building abilities, with a customer-centric mindset.
  • Proficient in sales and CRM software, as well as Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong analytical skills to assess market trends, identify business opportunities, and adjust strategies.
  • Knowledge: Familiarity with the local corporate market and business travel trends is highly desirable.
