Job Description
Our client is seeking an HR Generalist to join their team on a temporary basis to cover for a team member’s leave. This position will begin in early January 2025 to allow for training and onboarding, with responsibilities transitioning fully in April. The role is slated to continue through August 2025. As a key member of their People & Culture team, you will partner with stakeholders across the organization to develop and implement strategies that align with business goals and foster a positive and inclusive company culture. This role requires someone based in the NYC/Tri-State area who can work remotely with occasional in-office presence in their NYC office. (1-2x/month).
Responsibilities:- Build strong relationships with department leaders to understand their needs and provide tailored People & Culture support.
- Support the talent acquisition team throughout the end-to-end recruiting process for assigned departments to ensure the identification and hiring of top talent.
- Collaborate with the People team to handle investigations, performance issues, and policy adherence. Provide guidance on sensitive matters with empathy and professionalism.
- Manage performance review process and assist in rolling out a new compensation plan.
- Lead efforts to enhance DE&I, improve employee engagement based on survey data, and support culture transformation initiatives.
- Guide managers in addressing team challenges, navigating organizational changes, and fostering an environment of feedback and collaboration.
- Assist with day-to-day HR processes, including drafting SOPs, building training materials, and supporting policy or procedural questions.
- Evaluate current processes and recommend innovative solutions to enhance operational efficiency.
- Partner with managers to assess team development needs, implement training initiatives, and promote growth opportunities.
- Provide guidance on adapting to shifting priorities and organizational changes in a dynamic environment.
- Work closely with the People team to contribute to a collaborative and supportive HR function.
Required Qualifications:- 5+ years of HR experience, ideally in a high-growth or creative organization; great if someone has supported an engineering population, and/or creatives in music or television industry.
- Proven experience building trust and credibility with employees and leaders
- Strong employee relations expertise, including conflict resolution and policy guidance
- Deep understanding of HR processes, employment laws, and best practices
- Empathy, adaptability, and exceptional communication skills
- Experience coaching and developing managers to build high-performing teams
- Ability to balance the needs of creative and structured teams with a tailored approach
- Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving skills
