WPS, a subsidiary of WEC Energy Group, is seeking a Instrument and Control Technician - RICE at the Weston RICE Generating Station located in Kronenwetter, Wisconsin. 

Work Hours: These are shift workers on a variable schedule Monday - Friday. The schedule will rotate week to week between morning (4:30am - 12:30pm)  and afternoon (12:00pm - 8:00pm)shifts.

The Instrument and Control Technician-RICE ensures the safe, reliable, compliant and economical generation of electricity by inspecting and maintaining reciprocating internal combustion engine (RICE) generating station, auxiliary equipment, structures and grounds during routine, abnormal or emergency conditions.

• Maintain RICE generating station in accordance with approved procedures and established targets for safety, plant reliability, availability, output, efficiency and regulatory compliance
• Perform preventative, predictive and corrective maintenance duties on equipment and systems associated with RICE Generating Stations
• Follow all safety related processes and procedures including, but not limited to: energy control; confined space; hot work
• Modify and maintain programmable logic controller (PLC) software, and other plant control systems
• Operate and maintain all emissions control and monitoring equipment
• Operate and use specialized tools and equipment to maintain RICE generating station
• Support operation of RICE generating station by qualifying for operational duties, performing local operational duties and responding to call outs
• Complete necessary documents including maintenance, operational, and emission monitoring reporting

Education Required:

• Associate Degree in the area of Electric Power Technology, Industrial Electrical Maintenance, Electromechanical Technology, Automation Engineering Technology, Utilities Engineering Technology, Instrumentation
  OR
• Journeyman status as an Instrument Mechanic or Electrical and Instrumentation Technician.
  OR
• Equivalent Armed Forces training
• An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

Experience Required:

• 5 years technical experience OR Currently at journeyman level in the electrical and/or instrument or IC&E trade.
• 2 years of power generation operational experience or equivalent.
• Valid Drivers License

• Experience in both instrument and electrical trades preferred
• Experience with RICE power generation or industrial process systems is preferred

• Maintenance Selection System (MASS):  Ability to understand basic mechanical principles, visualize proper assembled form of objects, read and comprehend technical material; and skill in working basic mathematical problems.

Minimum Posting Range: $38.54 

Maximum Posting Range: $55.06 

The pay range reflects the minimum and maximum for the position at the time of posting and may be modified in the future. The starting salary/pay within the pay range will be based on several factors, as applicable, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, shift, travel requirements, collective bargaining agreements, and business and organizational needs. At WEC Energy Group, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role.
