Interim Director of Pharmacy - Hospital Pharmacy - Bakersfield
SMS is currently hiring for an Interim Director of Pharmacy role at a small hospital in Bakersfield, CA.

$100/hr or $208K salary anualized

Responsibilities:
**Cerner Required** -5-10 years of hospital experience, and at least 2 years of management level experience-
# of Hospital Beds: MHB: 144, MSW: 85 Overview of services: Medical Surgery, Telemetry, NICU, ICU, ER, Family Birth Center Trauma Level (if applicable): No
Is this a Teaching Facility: No
General Facility Requirements (testing/experience): At least 3 years of manager experience in hospital setting required, at least 5 years of staffing experience required. Recommend at least 10 years of hospital pharmacy experience Hospitalist or Intensivist in-house 24/7 On-call 24/7, intensivists usually 24-7
Is there a House Supervisor 24/7 Yes EMR: Cerner
Shift: Monday-Friday
On Call requirements: The director is not on-call since there is an on-call pharmacist available for one of our two locations where the pharmacy is open from 6 AM-10 PM, and is closed after hours.
There is also a night shift pharmacist stationed at the location that is open 24/7. However, the director is expected to be available by phone at all times of the day, during emergencies
Is Pharmacy in-house 24/7 Only MSW is 24/7, MHB is open 0600-2200
Medication Dispensing System: Omnicell
What brand Cardiac Monitors: Phillips
What brand IV pumps: Alaris, with Guardrails
Editor as software In-house IV Team? No, but PICC line nurse available M-F from 0730-1600 and on-call on weekends
Is RT in-house 24/7? Yes
Is Phlebotomy in-house 24/7? Do they draw all inpatient labs 24/7? Yes
General Facility Orientation: 3 days of general hospital orientation. Training on TEAM (timekeeping system) is done during orientation.
Parking: Parking lots at both campuses, no parking structures
Cafeteria: Open at both campuses daily
Do you have a Separate COVID Unit? No
Do you use PAPR or N95? No
Require COVID Vaccine? No
Position Requirements:
CA State Pharmacist license in good standing
Knowledge of general pharmacy practice and clinical pharmacy practice
A minimum of three (5) years of inpatient hospital experience as a pharmacist with 2 years of managerial experience
Ability to work well in a team setting and have a high level of apathy and compassion for your patients
