Job Description
This position is responsible for plant housekeeping and light maintenance duties, under the direction of the Plant Manager.
ASSIGNED SHIFT
Preferred 2pm or 5pm start time
20-25-hour work week
Required work hours, schedules and shifts are subject to change based upon business necessity. Required reliable transportation applies to all shifts, as assigned.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Performs general housekeeping to support plant operations.
Replenishes related supplies.
Gathers and disposes of trash in the plant and on plant grounds.
Cleans windows, glass partitions, or mirrors, using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, or squeegees.
Dusts furniture, walls, machines, or equipment.
Services, cleans and maintains supplies in restroom facilities.
Maintains plant floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming. May also strip, seal, finish, and polish floors.
Follows procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
May move heavy furniture, equipment, or supplies, either manually or by using hand trucks.
May clean equipment using solvents, brushes, rags, or power cleaning equipment.
Safely mixes water and detergents or acids in containers to prepare cleaning solutions, according to specifications.
As assigned, removes snow from sidewalks, driveways, or parking areas, using snowplows, snow blowers, or snow shovels, or spread snow melting chemicals.
o In such cases, must have the ability to safely operate company truck and plow.
o Must also perform snow removal duties using extreme caution on slippery surfaces. Performs light maintenance, as assigned.
Assists with light shipping and receiving duties, as assigned.
Notifies supervisor concerning the need for repairs or additions to building operating systems.
When assigned to night shift, monitors building security and safety by performing tasks such as locking doors after operating hours or checking electrical appliance use to ensure that hazards are not created.
Ability to become forklift certified and maintain certification, as well as consistently operate forklift in a safe, efficient manner.
Acts as a back-up for shipping duties, as assigned. Safely off loads incoming supplies, material, etc. and notifies recipient of arrival. Safety loads outgoing product, etc.
May serve as a back-up to the Maintenance Technicians, as needed.
May answer the company business phone during off-hours, when needed.
General Embraces and participates in JV's Safety culture, always keeping Safety as the #1 priority. Conforms to and follows all safety rules, production, and quality directives. Maintains cleanliness of work area to meet JV standards.
Reports any incidents that have occurred in a timely fashion and participates in investigations, as required (i.e. safety, spills, accidents, productivity/workflow).
Makes suggestions, demonstrates a questioning attitude and is supportive and open minded to new and existing ideas/initiatives.
Maintains positive and supportive employee relations through continuous communication with all colleagues.
Filing, inventory, administrative, tasks, security, auditing, housekeeping, painting, inspections, telephone calls, ordering, shipping, training, mentoring, updating safety data sheets, and any other duties as assigned.
Performs other duties and assignments, as deemed necessary, to support JV's dynamic business and operational needs.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES
Education High School diploma or equivalent.
Experience No experience required; however, must be able to meet knowledge and competency requirements below.
Technology
o Basic computer skills, including use and navigation of internet/intranet.
o Ability to learn basic use of Microsoft Office products.
o Ability to understand and apply appropriate usage of technology in a work environment including virus prevention. Ability to learn other technology related skills, as needed, to perform the essential functions of the position.

o Strong attention to detail related to facility maintenance.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS 3+ years of related experience in a manufacturing environment.
Previous light maintenance experience a plus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is generally working within a temperature-controlled manufacturing environment.

Regularly works near moving mechanical parts.
Noise level varies throughout the different work areas. Must wear appropriate PPE, as required, in work area(s).

General - Physical ability and mobility to walk, stand, and sit for prolonged periods of time; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, reach, twist, grasp, and make repetitive hand movement; ability to climb unusual heights on ladders, to lift, carry, push, and/or pull moderate to heavy loads (up to 50 lbs.); to operate assigned equipment and vehicles.
Near Vision - The ability to see details at close range. Passing an annual acuity eye exam, in accordance with customer requirements, is required for this position.
