Manufacturing Engineer

Near Muncie, IN

Salary: $110-130 K

Our client is an industry leading plastics manufacturer. They are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer with plastics experience. This person will be responsible for equipment efficiency, continuous and quality improvement projects, and scrap reduction among other duties. Come be a part of a great and growing team!

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and implement manufacturing processes for plastic products.
• Engineer proper engineering design and safety standards.
• Evaluate and optimize existing manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, reduce costs, identify bottlenecks, and enhance product quality.
• Collaborate with finance, engineering, and operations teams to design and implement tooling, fixtures, and equipment.
• Communicate with vendors and contractors on cost and to ensure deliverables are met.
• Develop and maintain process documentation, including work instructions, standard operating procedures, and process control plans.
• Conduct process capability studies and implement statistical process control (SPC).
• Ensure proper safety and quality in projects on new or existing equipment.
• Lead and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related discipline.
• 5+ years of experience in plastics manufacturing.
• Strong understanding of plastics materials and processing techniques
• Experience with tooling design, process development, and equipment implementation.
• Project management experience.
• Proficient with CAD software and MS Office.
• Willingness to travel 10-15%.
