Job Description
Management and Construction Solutions Inc, an industry leader in the management of construction upgrades and installations of large industrial projects, is looking for an expert in the Mechanical Installation of a Paper Machines. This is a full-time year-round position with a 7 month assignment in Skowhegan, ME. Permanent relocation is not required but onsite work is required for 20-25 days per month. A per diem allowance for housing and food as well as compensated travel between site and home are provided. As a Mechanical Paper Machine Coordinator you will be responsible for leading the coordination of the Paper Machine rebuild and report to the Lead Mechanical Coordinator.
Duties include:
A daily presence in the field to supervise/oversee Paper Machine Contractors to keep their work on-schedule and under budget while maintaining safe working conditions, including identifying/removing roadblocks for contractors' to progress toward production targets
Other duties may include:
- Work with the Mechanical Lead to create/review/approve Request for Quotations for labor/material/equipment necessary to complete the scope
- Work with the Mechanical Lead to order material/equipment to complete scope, including verifying quantities through takeoffs and approving contractor requisitions.
- Work with the Mechanical Lead to create/maintain/update Mechanical schedule
- Work with the Mechanical Lead to review/monitor the Paper Machine contractors' schedules/productivity/budgets with an emphasis on QA/QC
- Work with the Mechanical Lead to perform construction commissioning activities, including the creation of the CCO packages
- Work with the Mechanical Lead to lead all safety aspects of the construction site
Requirements
Qualifications -
15+ years' experience with Paper Machine proper mechanical installations -
Must be extremely knowledgeable in all aspects of the millwright and heavy rigging trades -
Must have experience with new builds and dirty rebuilds for machine proper -
Must be able to have multi-trade coordination abilities when it comes to machine proper and have knowledge of which trade takes precedence - Ability to manage manpower and budgets for large projects
- Ability to think critically and independently to make sound decisions
- Attention to detail is critical for success
Compensation - Hourly, depending on experience. This is a non-exempt position, so overtime hours are paid at 1.5x base rate. Anticipated workload of 60 hours per week for 2024. (with various additional OT throughout 2024 & 2025)
