Our challenge

As a Python Developer, Candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining robust software applications that support our risk management frameworks. Candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement solutions that enhance our ability to manage market and credit risk effectively .

Additional Information

The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within New York, NY is $100k - $110k/year & benefits (see below).

The Role

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain high-quality Python applications focused on risk management.
  • Collaborate with risk analysts and stakeholders to understand risk models and requirements.
  • Implement data processing and analytics solutions to support risk assessment and reporting.
  • Optimize existing applications for performance and scalability.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to the continuous improvement of development practices.
  • Document technical specifications and user manuals for applications developed.

Requirements:

You are:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Finance, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in Python development, preferably in the banking or financial services industry.
  • Strong understanding of market risk and credit risk concepts and methodologies.
  • Experience with data analysis libraries and frameworks (e.g., Flask, Django).
  • Familiarity with SQL and database management systems (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL).
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Knowledge of financial products and instruments is a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) for deploying applications.
  • Familiarity with machine learning concepts and frameworks (e.g., Scikit-Learn, TensorFlow).
  • Understanding of regulatory requirements related to risk management (e.g., Basel III).
