Job Description

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

The Quality Specialist ensures that Simply Good Foods systems meet the highest standards for food safety and quality as required by regulations and certification bodies. This individual is responsible for managing multiple projects, exercising independent decision-making and professionalism with all internal/external stakeholders. In addition, the Quality Specialist will support our Quality Managers with documentation and reporting needs in the Quality Management System.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform tasks related to Microsoft, SharePoint and Salesforce, or other data management systems
  • Perform tasks related to TraceGains or other data management software, including but not limited to data requests and document approvals
  • Perform tasks related to Alchemy or other training management platform, including but are not limited to track completion of new employees FSMS designated training, create and update quizzes and learning plans, launch job specific learning plans at determined frequencies
  • Advice in the creation and maintenance of policies, procedures and change management workflows that are compliant with ISO 22000:2018 standard
  • Acts as a subject matter expert for the maintenance and storage of controlled documents including policies, procedures, forms, and reference documents related to ISO 22000:2018 and other quality related processes
  • Participate / Lead special continuous improvement projects and assignments, as required
  • Participate in all other miscellaneous SMPL and departmental tasks, as required
  • Attend departmental/cross-functional meetings

KNOWLEDGE / ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of food safety and quality assurance principles rooted in the GFSI and ISO 22000:2018 standards
  • Exemplary writing, listening, communication, and presentation skills
  • Self-motivated with a desire to make a positive impact
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office environment, specifically Excel, Word and SharePoint
  • Experience with Trace Gains, a plus
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with tight deadlines
  • Excellent time management skills, ability to prioritize multiple tasks, exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Independent work proficiency with the ability to carry out responsibilities with minimal supervision, showing initiative and the ability to work autonomously
  • Strong ability to gather factual information in order to communicate effectively to other members of the SGF QA team and cross-functional team members
  • Demonstrate a commitment to continually developing the knowledge and skills essential for your role. Apply this expertise when collaborating with the team, contributing to business activities, and supporting the collective success of the department

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science, Dietetics or equivalent years of experience
  • Minimum 2 years of CPG experience working directly in food manufacturing or indirectly in a Co-Manufacturer environment
  • Experience related to compliance, sensory, product investigation and documentation control of manufactured goods
  • Complete all administrative tasks accurately and promptly, maintaining a high level of organization and attention to detail
  • Cross-functional experience, a plus Travel 10-20%.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

The health, satisfaction and well-being of our employees are important to us and an integral part of our organization’s goals. In this spirit, we are excited to share the available compensation for this role, which includes a base salary range and an annual short-term incentive.

We provide the base salary range, exclusive of benefits or additional incentives. Additionally, this position is eligible for a 5% annual short-term incentive. If you are hired at Simply Goods Foods, your final base salary compensation will be determined based upon such factors as: geographic locations, skills, training, education and/or experience. Please keep in mind that hiring at the compensation range maximum would not be typical to allow for future and continued salary growth.

HQ or OFFICE-BASED:

CO salary range is: $60,000 - $75,000
