POSITION SUMMARY The RSO is responsible for the day-to-day implementation and enforcement of their respective Radiation Safety Program. The RSO must have the independent authority to stop operations that he or she considers unsafe. He or she must have sufficient time and commitment from management to fulfill certain duties and responsibilities to ensure that radioactive materials are used in a safe manner.

Essential Functions Statement(s) •Serves as the primary point of contact with regulatory agencies.
•Qualifies personnel to conduct radiographic operations.
•Ensures proper distribution and control of the Radiographic Operations and Emergency Procedures manual.
•Controls procurement and disposal of licensed material.
•Evaluates source storage facilities.
•Maintains all radiographic equipment including survey meters.
•Maintains the audit/surveillance system.
•Ensures inventories and leak tests of isotopes are completed.
•Reviews utilization logs and reconciles Daily Radiation Report to utilization log.
•Inspects the area where radiographic operations are performed to verify that procedures in the O & E manual are being followed and that required documentation is being properly controlled.
•Assumes control or designates a qualified individual to institute corrective actions in emergency situations and reports to the Director.
•Investigates the cause of any incident and determines necessary corrective actions and reports to the Director.
•Conducts announced or unannounced internal audits of radiographic operations.
•Ensures adequate security measures are maintained for all sources.
•Ensures proper use of personal dosimetry.

SKILLS & ABILITIES Education: High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)
Experience: 5-10 years in Industrial Radiography
Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office
Certificates & Licenses: ASNT NDT Level II in Radiography, State Radiation Card EPIC PIPING, LLC
