Summary

CHS Sun Basin is seeking a dedicated and service-oriented individual to join their team as a Seasonal Scale Operator in Moses Lake, WA. The Scale Operator plays a key role in supporting grain facility operations by managing the weighing and grading of inbound and outbound trucks. This position requires direct interaction with customers, ensuring a high level of service through prompt, courteous communication and accurate documentation. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, possess strong interpersonal skills, and demonstrate a commitment to safety and continuous improvement. Responsibilities also include answering phones, maintaining a clean work area, and assisting other team members as needed, especially during peak seasons. 

 

This is a seasonal position - it is available for immediate start and will last 2-3 months, depending on business needs.

Responsibilities

  • Weigh and grade grain in all inbound and outbound trucks using computer and manual tools for measurement.
  • Provide a high level of customer service by addressing customers in a prompt, efficient and courteous manner.
  • Answer telephone promptly and direct calls as needed.
  • Maintain a clean work area.
  • Assist other personnel as needed.
  • Maintain and promote a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies, procedures and regulations. Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions.

Minimum Qualifications (required)

  • 0-6+ months of Operations, Business Operations and/or Customer Service

Additional Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • General data entry and computer skills
  • Ability to work longer days, weekends, and/or holidays during peak seasons
  • Pre-employment screening is based on the job requirements and industry guidelines and may or may not be required for the position. If required, selected candidates must pass pre-employment screenings to include all or a combination of drug, criminal, motor vehicle check, physical requirements and FMSCA Clearinghouse

Physical Requirements

CHS offers a competitive total rewards package. Compensation includes base wage and, depending upon position, may include other earnings such as bonus, incentives and commissions. Actual pay offered will vary based on multiple factors which may include, without limitation, experience, education, training, specialized skills and certifications, minimum wage/salary requirements under local law.

This position is designated by CHS Inc. as a safety-sensitive position pursuant to Washington law, RCW 49.44.240.
