About the role We are looking for a Tax Senior to join Chime’s corporate tax team to support the company’s rapid growth. The ideal candidate must have strong US tax provision and compliance background, tax technical and quantitative skills, and demonstrate the ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. It is essential that the candidate has hands-on tax calculation experience, strong communication, organization and project management skills and the ability to work well independently as well as with the broader team. This role reports to the Sr. Director of Tax in our HQ in San Francisco. The base salary offered for this role and level of experience will begin at $103,680.00 and up to $144,000.00. Full-time employees are also eligible for a bonus, competitive equity package, and benefits. The actual base salary offered may be higher, depending on your location, skills, qualifications, and experience. In this role, you can expect to Prepare quarterly and annual US GAAP consolidated income tax provision calculations and related financial statement disclosures in accordance with ASC 740 and FIN 48 (ASC 740-10) and perform SOX controls procedures. Prepare and file state and local tax returns. Prepare tax calculations and work with the outside consultant on consolidated federal and state income tax returns. Manage the tax compliance calendar. Calculate tax accruals, prepare tax journal entries, and maintain and reconcile tax-related accounts as a part of the monthly accounting close process. Help with all tax-related notices and letters, which includes coordinating and handling timelines, requests and responses, both internally and externally. Help with 1099 informational reporting. Assist with tax projects including R&D tax credit, Sec. 174, tax forecasting, and other projects as necessary. To thrive in this role, you have Minimum 4 years of experience in a public accounting firm and/or industry with ASC 740 expertise and US federal and state tax compliance experience. Strong technical background on US federal and state tax concepts, including stock-based compensation, R&D tax credit, Sec. 174, and state tax nexus. Meticulous attention to detail and strong analytical, organizational, project-management and problem-solving skills. BA/BS Degree in Accountancy, or a similar field of study. Strong MS Excel and data analysis skills, and experience with enterprise/general ledger systems, tax provision applications, and tax and accounting research tools.
