The Banquet Server is responsible for delivering and serving food and beverage in a friendly, courteous and timely manner, focusing on exceeding guest satisfaction. Responsibilities include acting as liaison between Sales Manager and House of Blues Team Members before, during and throughout the event; greeting guests and explaining specials, promotions and menu items; setting banquet tables and buffet displays; serving at food and beverage functions according to Banquet Event Orders and policies; bussing and clearing banquet rooms; maintaining cleanliness and organization; anticipating and responding to guests' needs; answering guest questions and making recommendations; up-selling liquors and menu items; delivering drinks; maintaining atmosphere control; removing dirty dishes and cleaning spills; following safety and sanitation standards; requesting identification from guests under 30; ensuring responsible alcohol service; recognizing intoxicated guests and refusing further service; processing payments; assisting other staff; attending pre-shift meetings; and other duties as assigned. Required qualifications include flexible schedule, knowledge of food service and alcohol service, 2 years of full service or banquet experience, ability to handle intoxicated guests safely, and valid or obtainable alcohol awareness certification. Preferred qualifications include fine dining experience, hotel/hospitality serving experience, cash handling, ID recognition, and live music environment experience. Physical demands include working in a fast-paced, loud, stressful environment with prolonged standing and ability to lift/move up to 25 lbs.
