Work Schedule Work schedule- could be 5 8 hour days Monday to Friday 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. or 4 10 hour days Monday to Thursday 6:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and off on Friday. Primary Role Under the supervision of the Operations Supervisor, this position is responsible for production and treatment of drinking water to customers. Ensure water treatment facilities meet regulated requirements. Inspects and maintains pumping facilities. Maintains and repairs water treatment equipment. Take Water Samples. Drives company vehicle.A customer service duty includes investigating customer complaints and inquiries regarding water pressure and quality. Provides on-call and emergency duty. Maintains recordkeeping. Special projects and assignments as required. May also perform duties of Serviceperson classification.Knowledge/Skills

  • This position requires the ability to communicate verbally and in writing with internal and external customers as well as the ability to accurately read and record meter readings and other related information.
  • Must have the ability to perform mathematical calculations necessary to water treatment processExperience/Education
This position requires a high school diploma, GED or equivalent.Certifications/Licenses
  • Must possess a valid California Driver’s License with minimal moving violations.
  • Must possess a Distribution Operator II certification.
  • Water Treatment Operator I – requires minimum Grade I Water Treatment certification. Related water treatment experience is required.Work Environment
  • Daily walking and/or climbing on varied terrain is required.
  • May require bending, stooping, kneeling, and digging.
  • Lifting up to 50 pounds unaided may be required.
  • Approximately 20-30% of the position is sedentary, either in the office or in a company vehicle.
  • May require the physical ability to perform labor- intensive activities such as digging, moving equipment, and working long hours in emergency situations.
  • Position has potential exposure to hazardous chemicals and requires use of appropriate safety equipment.
  • A substantial portion of the work is done outside with exposure to the elements, some potential exposure to poison oak, insects, reptiles, and animals.
  • May require working in trenches, tanks, and/or elevated areas.
  • Position requires the ability to work with little direct on-site supervision.
