Position Details

Title: Director of Infrastructure and Cyber Security
Location: Chicago, IL
Salary: $150-175K
Note: No sponsorship offered. Must reside in the Chicagoland area.

Must-Haves

• Four-year Bachelor's Degree
• 5-10 years of technical experience
• 5+ years of management experience
• 5+ years of IT strategy experience
• Current IT Director or Senior Manager role

Role Overview

The Director of IT Infrastructure and Security oversees the strategic planning and daily management of infrastructure, cloud, and cybersecurity functions. Responsibilities include managing production environments, networking, data management, communications, and ensuring operational security and excellence. The role involves collaboration with Managed Service Providers and advising senior leadership on emerging technology trends.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead planning for IT infrastructure and cybersecurity projects.
• Ensure performance, security, and availability of core IT systems.
• Manage servers, networks, desktops, and hardware/software.
• Oversee cloud operations and vendor relationships.
• Improve system performance and cost-efficiency.
• Maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
• Align initiatives with organizational goals.
• Engage with leadership and stakeholders regularly.
• Manage budgets and expenditures.
• Represent IT in meetings, committees, and conferences.

Preferred Experience

Candidates should have experience with at least six of the following:

• VMware virtualization
• Cisco networking and switching
• Security architecture and firewalls
• SAN storage
• Vulnerability and intrusion detection
• Windows and Linux server administration
• Microsoft 365 and Azure
• IT compliance audits
• Copper and fiber networks
• Wireless networking

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of ITIL and best practices
• Leadership and team-building skills
• Excellent communication and project management
• Experience working with senior leadership
• Adaptability in a fast-paced environment
