Mainframe System Programmer- z/OS at Ensono in Boise, Idaho, United States Job Description Mainframe System Programmer- z/OSRemote - United StatesJR010616 Position Summary The Mainframe Systems Programmer provides support for on-going projects that require the installation, testing, and implementation of new operating systems and other 'system' software. Also, the Maintenance and debugging of systems software. Research and evaluation of new software and hardware products, assisting team members and other areas with technical questions and problem resolution. Monitoring and tuning of systems software. Functional knowledge, use of z/OS components and detailed knowledge of support products such as tape management, scheduling, security, monitoring systems, etc. Key Areas of Focus for this Role + Low complexity assignments provide oversight/review. + Understands how whole picture aligns to overall Ensono strategy. + Works directly with Hardware and Software vendors on new solutions. + Review and analyze current client software and requirements to determine the most cost-effective and standard software solution to be included in the business proposal. + Provide and document problem analysis, resolution, and prevention, designing procedures and best practice techniques. z/OS & Tools your main tasks are related to: + Incident, change and problem handling. + Configuration and customization. + Setup of parameters. + Communication with vendors. + Participation/contribution to technical projects. + In depth knowledge and understanding of z/OS and related product software z/OS. + PARMLIB configuration and JES2 customization. + Ability to support in solving problems and implementing changes on z/OS environments. + Advanced knowledge of TSO/ISPF, SDSF, JCL. + Excellent written and verbal skills. + Ability to take the lead in problem solving and coordination of multi-disciplinary groups. + Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
