Forklift Service Technician / Mechanic

Essential Functions

• Perform preventative maintenance on forklifts and other material handling equipment
• Diagnose and repair all forms of customer equipment
• Complete repairs job in a timely, efficient, and professional manner
• Provide exceptional customer service
• Work and manage workloads independently
• Proper completion and submission of all required paperwork
• Responsible for company vehicle and on-board parts inventory
• Consistent, regular, and reliable attendance including being ready for work at the designated start time
• Physical/Sensory Functions: Regularly will stand, walk, use hands, reach, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
• Lift and/or Move Functions: occasionally will lift from 26 to 100 plus pounds
• Keep time and submit to payroll daily
• Creation of repair orders to include customer concerns, contact info, unit info
• Prepare repair orders review for service manager
• Ensure materials needed to complete jobs are ordered through communication with parts and service department
• Pickup parts as needed
• Performs other duties as assigned

Work Environment :

Regularly work near moving mechanical parts; frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, occasionally will work in adverse weather conditions including wet and humid conditions, or extreme cold or heat conditions.

Qualifications

• P revious Mechanical experience and must have own tools
• High school diploma/GED
• Ability to interface with customers / co-workers in a professional and courteous manner
• Language Skills - Basic: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
• Ability to write simple correspondence
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations, to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
• Mathematical Skills - Basic: Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's
• Ability to perform these operations using units of US currency, weight measurement, volume, and distance
• Reasoning Ability - Basic: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out written or oral instructions
• Basic PC skills
